ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell freshman forward Clare Fitzpatrick (Southbury, Conn./Canterbury School) has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, as was announced by the league office this afternoon. It is the first Ivy League weekly honor for the Big Red this season.

Fitzpatrick had a pair of solid outings as she opened the weekend with her first career-double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing a career-high 13 rebounds against perennial Ivy League power Dartmouth. The next night against Harvard, Fitzpatrick led the Big Red with a team- and career-high 15 points, while pulling down nine caroms. She also showed her durability over the weekend, playing a full 40 minutes in both games.

The Big Red closes a five-game road-trip when it travels to Yale and Brown on Friday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 6, respectively. Both games are slated to tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
