ITHACA, N.Y. -- After claiming the Big Red's first show title of 2010, the Cornell equestrian team will head to Hartwick on Saturday, March 6 beginning at 9 a.m. at Hunter's Rein Stable in Otego, N.Y.

Cornell has finished in the top three in the last five district shows, including last weekend's comeback win at Skidmore. The Big Red, sitting in the middle of the pack heading into the afternoon session, nipped both Skidmore and Hartwick with its 43 points. With five riders already qualified for the regional championships, the Big Red will be looking to make up ground on the Thoroughbreds, who currently lead the regional standings. Cornell will also attempt to extend its streak of shows with at least 30 points scored to seven.

A year ago, Cornell placed second at the Skidmore Spring Show, scoring 33 points and crowning five blue ribbon riders.
