Gymnastics Tops Penn In Senior Day Dual Meet

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell gymnastics team earned a hard-fought dual meet victory over Penn on Saturday afternoon at Teagle Gymnasium, outscoring the Quakers by just .125. The Big Red scored a 190.500, just ahead of the Quakers with a 190.375.

It was a strong day on vault and floor for the Big Red, scoring above a 48.0 on both events. On vault, the top four finishers were each wearing red. Kerri Lavallee (9.800) posted the meet's highest score, while Maddie Pearsall was second (9.725). Kim O'Donnell and Sarah Hein were tied for third with their 9.650's. The floor group was led by individual champion Brittany Howse, who scored a 9.825. Both Emily Santoro (9.775) and Pearsall (9.725) also surpassed 9.7. On bars, Hein and Pearsall tied for second with dual 9.7's and Melanie Standridge easily took home the beam crown with a 9.850.
