ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell women's fencing head coach
Iryna Dolgikh has been chosen to serve as a representative of the US Cadet and Junior Fencing Team as it travels to the World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan. The tournament will run from April 2-10.
“This is a very prestige tournament,” said Dolgikh. “I hope it'll help Cornell to recruit fencers from other countries and also improve my professional knowledge.”
The competition will be held at the Haydar Aliyev Sport and Concert Complex in Baku, which has hosted numerous Olympic caliber sporting events. The Junior and Cadet World Championships are held annually and are being organized this year by the Azerbaijan Fencing Federation and the Azerbaijan Olympic Committee.
