Gymnastics Defeats Rutgers, Brockport With Season-Best Score

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell gymnastics team posted a season-high 192.675 to defeat both Rutgers (190.950) and Brockport (188.250) on Saturday afternoon at Teagle Gymnasium. Cornell won three individual events in claiming the meet title.

Emily Santoro (9.725) and Kerri Lavallee (9.700) led a 1-2 charge on vault, while COrnell place 1-2-3-4 in bars with Bethany Neczypor posting a meet-high 9.825. Molly Parker (9.800), Sarah Hein (9.750) and Maddie Pearsall (9.625) rounded out Cornell's scorers on the apparatus.

On beam, it was Melanie Standridge with a 9.875 to win the event. Brittany Howse was the team's high scorer on floor with a 9.825, good for third, while Emily Lenk was a spot behind with a 9.775.

The Big Red returns to action on Saturday, March 20 at 1 p.m. when it plays host to Penn at Teagle Gymnasium.
