ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell heavyweight varsity-8 has been named the Row2K Crew of the Week after a stellar performance at the IRA National Regatta. The Big Red garnered 38% of the 2,395 votes in the poll, beating the Cal's men's varsity-8, Mercyhurst women's varsity-8, Stanford's women's lightweight varsity-8, the Virginia women and the Yale women's varsity-8.

Seeded eighth overall, the Big Red raced through the reps to make the IRA Grand Final before knocking off Harvard, Brown, and Syracuse to win the bronze medal, its best finish at the IRA since taking third in 1994. Cornell came in right behind the two top-ranked crews, Cal and Washington.
