NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Alex Domenick, a rising junior on the Cornell men's squash team, has been selected as one of three men to represent the United States at the 2010 World University Games, which will be held July 10-18 in Melbourne, Australia, at the Clayton Campus of Monash University.

The United States team features three men and two women, all of whom compete for Ivy League schools. Domenick, who finished last season ranked 26th in the nation, won a playoff match against Yale's Todd Ruth to earn a spot on the roster for the World University Games. He will be joined by Princeton's Todd Harrity and Dartmouth's Chris Hanson, while the two women on the squad are Penn's Kristen Lange and Yale's Logan Greer.

The event will feature both team and individual play, with at least 17 countries fielding teams. The United States team will be coached by Paul Assiante, the head coach of the men's squash team at Trinity College.

Domenick was one of the co-most valuable players of the men's squash team last season, playing the entire season at the top singles spot. He finished the year with a 7-10 record.
