ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell won all four events, both as a team and individually, and cruised to a 189.950-180.225 dual meet victory over Cortland on Saturday afternoon at Teagle Gymnasium. Cornell just missed out on its third straight meet of 190.000 or better to open the season, but did plenty to earn its first dual meet win of the year.
McKenna Archer won the vault with a 9.625 and Sarah Hein was tied for second with a 9.575 as the team opened with a 47.400. On bars, Cornell had its six individuals finish 1-6, each scoring a 9.3 or better. Lexi Schupp was the big winner, nudging out Maddie Pearsall (9.65) and Bethany Neczypor (9.625) for first with her 9.675. As a team, the Big Red recorded a 47.750 on bars.
On beam, Melanie Standridge continued her success with an excellent routine that scored a 9.725 as Cornell tallied a team score of 47.275 on the apparatus. On floor, the top four finishers were all Big Red gymnasts. Leading the way was Pearsall in first with a 9.675, while Sarah Hein was second with a 9.6.
