POTSDAM, N.Y. -- Catherine White scored a pair of goals in the final four minutes of the third period to lift the Cornell women's hockey team to a 3-3 tie at Clarkson on Friday night. Chelsea Karpenko added a goal and two assists in the contest for the Big Red.

Laura Fortino added a pair of assists on the night for Cornell (22-1-1, 16-0-1 ECAC Hockey), with Lauren Slebodnick stopping 24 shots in goal. The Big Red finished the night 2-for-5 on the power play, including White's game-tying tally.

For Clarkson (11-13-4, 8-6-2), Katelyn Ptolemy, Jamie Lee Rattray and Brittany Styner each scored a goal, with Ptolemy and Rattray also adding assists for a multi-point game. Gabrielle Kosziwka and Juana Baribeau both picked up one assist on the night for the Golden Knights. Erica Howe stopped 27 shots in the tie for Clarkson, which finished the night scoreless in two power-play chances.

Cornell took a 1-0 lead late in the first period when Karpenko buried a quick shot from the bottom of the faceoff circle to the right of Howe as the Big Red finished the first period ahead, 1-0. That lead lasted into the second period when Ptolemy knotted the score at one, firing a slap shot from the right point that beat Slebodnick. Later in the period, Rattray gave Clarkson the 2-1 lead with her wrist shot from the bottom of the circle to Slebodnick's left with 16:44 gone in the period.

In the third, Styner finished off a pass from Rattray to give Clarkson the 3-1 lead at the 11:17 mark of the period, setting the stage for Cornell's comeback. White cut into the deficit at the 16:08 mark of the period, pegging a shot past Howe with Karpenko tallying an assist on the play. Then, with the Big Red on a power play following a penalty to Baribeau, Slebodnick came to the bench to set up a 6-on-4 advantage, and that paid dividends just seconds later as White tapped in a pass from Karpenko to knot the score at three with 1:50 to play in the contest.

Cornell tallied a pair of shots in the extra session, but Howe was there to make both stops, snapping the Big Red's winning streak at 18 games, just three shy of tying the NCAA record.

Cornell will try to get back into the win column on Saturday, taking on St. Lawrence in a 4 p.m. contest at Appleton Arena in Canton, N.Y.
