PRINCETON, N.J. – For the second straight week, Cornell's Rob Pannell has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week, an honor that he shares with Harvard's Dean Gibbons, as was announced this afternoon by the conference office. The accolade is the fourth Player of the Week award of Pannell's career.

The junior attackman had a hand in half of the Big Red's goals against Canisius, handing out six assists and scoring once as Cornell earned a 14-7 victory. Three days later, against second-ranked Virginia, he was the best offensive player on the field, notching a game-high four goals as Cornell's upset bid came up just short, falling 11-9.

For the week, Pannell averaged 5.5 points per game, accounting for more than one-third of Cornell's total points (11-of-32). He currently ranks first in the nation in both points (5.6) and assists (3.0) per game.

Pannell and the No. 12/9 Big Red are back in action this weekend as it opens up Ivy League play at No. 16/17 Yale on Saturday, march 19 at 1 p.m.
