David Lau has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week, as was announced this morning by the conference office. Lau earned the honor after playing the best game of his career, leading the Big Red to a 13-12 victory over Harvard on Saturday, as Cornell clinched a share of its ninth straight Ivy League title.
Lau had a hand in more than half of the Big Red's scores with a career-high five goals and a personal-best three assists. He scored the final two goals of the game, first tying the contest at 12-12 and then putting the Big Red up 13-12 with just 1:18 to play. Lau was extremely efficient, taking only seven shots and putting six on goal. He also picked up a game-high four ground balls and caused one turnover.
