ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell men's ice hockey program will add 10 newcomers to the program for the 2011-12 season it was announced today by
Mike Schafer, the Jay R. Bloom '77 Head Coach of Men's Hockey. The Big Red will reload in pursuit of its seventh NCAA tournament berth in the last 10 years. The class is made up of seven forwards, two defensemen and a goalkeeper.
"I am very excited about the class of 2015," Schafer said. "Casey Jones and Scott Garrow have assembled one of the best classes we have had come to Cornell in many years. This class has international experience, a winning attitude and each one of them already has pretty impressive accomplishments. Together with our returning players, we look forward to the 2011-12 season with excitement."

Bardreau spent the 2010-11 season with the United States National Team Development Program, playing international competitions in addition to a handful of games in the USHL. For the entire season, he appeared in 60 games and scored 11 goals and had 15 assists for 26 points, ranking him eighth on the team. He was also a member of the U.S. team that captured the gold medal at the IIHF U18 World Championship in April 2011 in Germany. He also represented the United States at the 2010 U17 World Hockey Challenge.

Cole played two seasons with Cornwall of the CJHL, appearing in a total of 99 games over that span. He played in 34 contests in 2010-11, scoring 13 goals and adding 18 assists for 31 points. Cole picked up his game in the playoffs, leading the Colts to the championship series, and scored six goals and had five assists in 16 games. Cole was also named to the CJHL All-Star Game in 2010-11.

Dias appeared in 62 games during the 2010-11 season with Victoria of the BCHL, scoring 56 points on 22 goals and 34 assists to rank fourth on the team in scoring. He played three seasons with Victoria, appearing in 185 games and collecting 115 points on 46 goals and 69 assists. Dias also represented Team Canada West at both the 2009 and 2010 World Jr. A Challenge.

Ferlin played two seasons with the Indiana Ice of the USHL, appearing in 112 games over that span and scoring 89 points. He exploded offensively during the 2010-11 season, appearing in 55 games and scoring 73 points (25 goals, 48 assists) to finish third in the league scoring race. He helped the Ice into the playoffs both seasons, scoring eight points in 13 career playoff games. He was named as one of the league's mid-season all-stars in 2011 and represented the United States at the 2009 Ivan Hlinka Tournament in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Lowry played in 54 games on the season for Victoria of the BCHL, finishing the season with 84 points to rank second on the team in scoring. He had 29 goals and 55 assists on the year despite missing nearly two full months due to injury and ranked first in scoring per game among all players who appeared in a minimum of 40 contests. Lowry spent two seasons with Victoria, appearing in 117 games, and scored 133 points on 45 goals and 88 assists. He was ranked 95th among domestic skaters on the final Central Scouting List for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

MacDonald played in 58 games on the season for Waterloo of the USHL, finishing the season with eight goals and 22 assists for 30 points, tying him for ninth among all defensemen in the league. He spent two seasons at Waterloo, appearing in a total of 87 games and scoring 40 points with 12 goals and 28 assists. MacDonald also helped his club to the playoffs both seasons and earned league defensive player of the week honors on Jan. 17, 2011.

Marozzi backstopped the Saints to the 2010 and 2011 league championships. In 2010-11, he appeared in 55 games, posting a 45-6-4 record with a 1.60 goals-against average and a 93.3 save percentage and nine shutouts. He played four seasons in the AJHL, including the past two and a half with Spruce Grove, and finished his career with 158 games played, a 118-24-13 record, a 2.12 goals-against average, a 92.2 save percentage and 25 shutouts.

McCarron spent parts of three seasons with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL, appearing in 137 games over that span and serving as team captain during the 2010-11 season. He finished his final season in Lincoln with 57 points in 60 games (24-33) and helped his team clinch a berth in the playoffs. He finished tied for 12th in the league in scoring during the season and was named as one of the league's mid-season all-stars in 2011. He also earned league offensive player of the week accolades on April 4, 2011. For his career in Lincoln, McCarron compiled 85 points on 33 goals and 52 assists in 137 games.

Ryan played one season at Dubuque of the USHL, appearing in 53 games and scoring 32 points on three goals and 29 assists. He helped the Saints win the Clark Cup title in just their first season and compiled five points in 11 games on two goals and three assists. He earned USHL defensive player of the week honors on Oct. 25, 2010 and was named a league mid-season all-star. Ryan, whose mother was a professional tennis player, represented Sweden at the 2010 World U17 Challenge and also played for Sweden in the 2010 World Jr. A Challenge. He finished the season fifth on the team in scoring and led all defensemen in that category, nearly doubling up his next-closest blueliner. Ryan also finished eighth in the league in scoring among defensemen.
