ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell wrestling team, which announced six newcomers for the 2011-12 season, has added two-time Iowa state champion Evan Knight and 174-pounder to its roster. Knight becomes the seventh newcomer to join the Big Red program this fall.

Knight, a three-time Iowa state finalist and two-time champion won multiple Fargo All-America honors and was ranked as high as the No. 3 prospect in the nation at 184 pounds. He was a Cadet Nationals freestyle All-American in 2007. His father, Steve, was a Big 8 Champion and All-American at Iowa State and has also served on USA Wrestling's national coaching staff after three seasons as an assistant at Iowa State.
