HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa. — The golf team finished 18th at the Big 5 Invitational this weekend on the North Course at Philmont Country Club. Junior Carl Schimenti was the team's low scorer both days, carding a 79 in Sunday's final round.

Schimenti strung together four pars after bogeying the opening hole en route to a 39 on the outward nine. His back nine was highlighted by a birdie on the par-3 17th and a par 4 on the finishing hole to allow him to break 80. Schimenti's two-day total of 76-79—155 was good for a tie for 23rd individually.

Junior Max Koehler improved by six shots on the second day, birdieing the par-5 12th on his way to an 81 on Sunday. Classmate Craig Esposito came in with an 86, and Brandon Eng and Zack Bosse carded matching 87s. Cornell's final team score was 318-333—651.

There were 19 teams in the field, with Hartford winning with a two-day score of 609 – one shot ahead of first-round co-leader Sacred Heart. The Big Red will conclude the fall portion of its schedule next weekend with the Ivy League Match Play event hosted by Princeton.
