Contact Jenner to Sponsor Her

ITHACA, N.Y. – Hoping to raise money for a young girl who is suffering from cancer, Big Red junior forward Brianne Jenner is looking for sponsors to donate $1 for every goal she scores this year.

Jenner, who had 20 goals as a sophomore in 2011-12, will be taking part in a program called “Markers for Madison” that will collect $1 every time Jenner lights the lamp during the 2012-13 season to benefit a 7-year-old Canadian girl who is fighting brain cancer.

Madison Primeau, is the younger cousin of Jenner's former middle school teammate. When Jenner heard about Madison's cancer through that former teammate, she wanted to help.

“The Primeaus are extremely selfless people, so when I heard about Madison's battle against cancer I wanted to help in any way I could,” Jenner said. “I'm lucky here at Cornell to have a very supportive community that can help me do that.”

Any interested sponsors can contact Jenner directly through her Cornell e-mail address, bj72@cornell.edu, and fans can track Jenner's fundraising progress through her Twitter account, @briannejenner or the Cornell women's hockey Twitter account, @CornellWHockey.

Jenner had heard of goal drives for similar charities before, and when she recognized the generosity of the Lynah Faithful and the support from her teammates, she realized she could help Madison herself.

“We are lucky as Cornell hockey players to have a platform within the community, and I think it's our responsibility to use that to promote causes like 'Markers for Madison' and 'Do it for Daron,'” Jenner said. “I'm proud that my team values initiatives like these, because hockey is after all just a sport, and there a lot more important things going on, like Madison's battle.”

The money Jenner collects will be donated directly to an account for Madison's medical expenses.
