Binghamton Fall Invitational final results
APALACHIN, N.Y. —
Carl Schimenti carded the best round of the day at Monday's final round at the Binghamton Fall Invitational, shooting 3-under-par 69 to help the golf team jump up two places in the final team standings to eighth. All five competing Big Red golfers improved on their second day scores at The Links at Hiawatha Landing.
Schimenti vaulted all the way up to a four-way tie for fifth in the individual competition. His score of 77-69—146 was six strokes off medalist Ujo Coussaud of Laval University.
Craig Esposito also finished in the top 10 for the Big Red with a score of 74-73—147, which was good for a tie for ninth place.
Zack Bosse also improved by one stroke from Sunday's first round to Monday's finale with a score of 79-78—157.
Max Koehler made a significant jump, vaulting up 18 spots with a second-round 76 to come in with a total of 157.
Brandon Eng was four shots better Monday, carding an 80.
The Big Red's team score Monday was second-best in the field of 16, finishing with a total score of 311-296—607. The only score better was by Quebec-based Laval University, which won the competition with a 291-295—586 to finish 12 shots clear of Saint Peter's and Hofstra.
Cornell is back in action next weekend with a trip to metro Philadelphia for the Big 5 Invitational.
