PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- Senior
Melanie Standridge won an ECAC beam title and Cornell finished fourth as a team with a strong 192.350. It was the Big Red's second consecutive meet above 192.000 to close the regular season.
Standridge posted a 9.775 to join three other gymnasts in sharing the ECAC event title. She was the lone Big Red finisher in the top five of an event. Cornell was out to defend its 2011 title at the meet and posted a team score nearly three quarters of a point higher this season despite finishing three spots lower.
The Big Red scored 48.000 or better on three of four events, including a 48.400 team score on bars.
Melanie Jorgensen scored a 9.750 to finish seventh on the apparatus.
Tiffany Chen was the highest Big Red finisher on vault, hitting for a 9.750 and 10th place overall. Cornell didn't have a top 10 finisher on floor, with
McKenna Archer's 9.700 leading the way. That was good for 15th among the 42 gymnasts at the meet.
