Women’s Rowing Sweeps Four Races Against Syracuse and Boston University

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Cornell women's rowing team opened the spring season in dominant fashion, sweeping all four races against Syracuse and Boston University this morning on the Onondaga Lake Outlet.
 
The Big Red defeated BU in the first varsity eight race by a commanding margin of more than nine seconds, crossing the line in 6:46.2, while the second varsity eight dominated Syracuse, besting the Orange by more than 12 seconds (6:57.1).
 
The third varsity eight and the varsity four also posted wins against the host team Syracuse, with the third varsity eight winning in a time of 7:14.7 and the varsity four enjoying the largest margin of victory on the day (18 seconds), crossing the line in a time of 7:48.4).
 
Cornell is back in action next weekend as it travels to Princeton to face the Tigers and Radcliffe.
