ITHACA, N.Y. — Men's hockey goalie Andy Iles has been named as one of the 11 members of the College Sports Information Directors Association's Academic All-District At-Large Team.

Iles recently finished a stellar sophomore campaign in which he was just one of two goalies across the Division I landscape to serve as his team's exclusive goaltender for the entire season. He posted a 19-9-7 record with a 2.12 goals-against average which ranked 10th in the country. A pre-med biological sciences major, Iles has 3.58 grade point average. He was also one of the record 104 student-athletes in the fall that joined the university's 400 Club, an honor bestowed on student-athletes that achieve a 4.0 or higher grade point average for the semester.

At the team's postseason banquet, Iles was given the Nicky Bawlf Award as the most valuable player and the Joe DeLibero-Stan Tsapis Award for skilled efficiency, unselfish dedication and hard-nosed competitive desire. He was named to the All-Ivy League First Team and All-ECAC Hockey Second Team.

With three consecutive shutouts in November, Iles recorded the second-longest shutout streak in program history, spanning 213 minutes, 35 seconds over a five-game span. He then posted back-to-back shutouts against St. Lawrence and Clarkson on Dec. 2 and Dec. 3, respectively, spurring another lengthy shutout streak of 152:36 that ranks ninth all-time in Big Red history. In the process, he also set a record for longest streak in ECAC Hockey play of 286:54 from November to January. His success has stretched into the postseason, as evidenced by a career-high 46 saves in a March 9 double-overtime victory against Dartmouth. He made 31 saves in the Big Red's 3-2 overtime victory over top-seeded Michigan in the NCAA Midwest Regional semifinals on March 23.
