Complete U.S. Roster
ITHACA, N.Y. – One day after six of her teammates learned they would be playing for Canada's Under-22/Development Team, American-born Cornell goaltender
Lauren Slebodnick got some good news of her own.
Slebodnick, a rising junior who saw plenty of action in goal during her first two seasons with the Big Red, was named to the United States' U-22 Select Team on Monday morning by USA Hockey. Slebodnick made the cut from a larger camp held by USA Hockey in the last two weeks and is one of 22 members on the final U.S. team.
Slebodnick, a Manchester, N.H., native, is the only athlete on the American team from New Hampshire.
Sunday's news was positive for six of Slebodnick's Canadaian teammates:
Laura Fortino,
Brianne Jenner,
Hayleigh Cudmore,
Jessica Campbell,
Jillian Saulnier and
Cassandra Poudrier. They will be facing off against Slebodnick's U.S. team in a three-game series in Calgary, Alberta, starting Thursday. The contests will be played at 7 p.m. mountain time on Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. mountain time on Saturday.
Slebodnick and the six Canadians will also be considered for a place on their country's U-22 team for the Meco Cup in Germany in January.
The only other ECAC Hockey schools to have representatives on the U.S. U-22 team were Harvard and Rensselaer. The Crimson are represented by five members of their team while RPI has one.
