ITHACA, N.Y. — NBC Sports Network announced Tuesday that it will broadcast two men's hockey games from Lynah Rink this season — the Nov. 16 meeting against Harvard and the Jan. 25 clash with Yale.
The Big Red appeared once on the network last season, playing Rensselaer to a 2-2 tie at Houston Fieldhouse in February. NBC Sports Network, formerly known as VERSUS, has not broadcast a game from Lynah before.
“We are very excited to begin our second season of college hockey by offering more coverage than last year,” said Jon Miller, President, Programming NBC Sports and NBC Sports Network. “NBC Sports Network will start the season two months earlier this year, providing sports fans with even more national primetime coverage of the nation's best college hockey.”
NBC Sports' 2012-13 television schedule features eight more games than last season, its first televising a full slate of college hockey games. By compiling a schedule of contests from ECAC Hockey, Hockey East, the University of Denver, the University of Notre Dame and the University of Nebraska-Omaha, NBC Sports Network will air 24 games.
To accommodate the network's schedule, the games against Harvard and Yale have been moved to a 7:30 p.m. start time.
