Men's Cross Country Dominates in Rochester Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The men's cross country team had an impressive showing in Rochester on Saturday afternoon, taking first place in a field of 24 teams while having eightof its men finish in the top 10 of the 333 athletes running.

For the second consecutive week, Ben Potts crossed the finish line first, completing the eight-kilometer course in 25:08.6. Just behind him was teammate Nick Wade, who needed just half a second more to take second place. Andrew Herring finished third just over a second later, and Max Groves took fourth in a time of 25:11. Rounding out the top five Big Red scorers and the top five runners in the race overall, senior Adam Trofa was excellent in 25:11.2.

Taking away valuable points from the opposition were Brett Kelly and John Schilkowsky, who took seventh and eighth place overall.

The Big Red's top 12 runners all finished in the first 15 places. No other school had even two runners in the top 20.

Cornell has next weekend off before racing in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh on Sept. 28.
