Cornell Men’s Athletics Finishes 18th In Capital One Cup, Women Rank 51st

McLean, Va. – The Cornell men's and women's athletic programs had an outstanding showing in the final Capital One Cup standings, with the Big Red men finishing 18th overall and the women taking 51st place. Cornell's finish on the men's side is the highest of any Ivy League school, while the women came in behind only Princeton (18th overall).

The Capital One Cup is awarded annually to each of the best men's and women's Division I college athletics programs in the country. Points toward the Capital One Cup are earned and tracked throughout the year based on final standings of NCAA Championships and final official coaches' polls.

For the men's standing, participating sports include: baseball, basketball, cross country, fencing, football, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, soccer, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field (indoor/outdoor), volleyball, water polo, wrestling.

For the women's standings participating sports include: basketball, bowling, cross country, field hockey, fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, rowing, skiing, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field (indoor/outdoor), volleyball, water polo.
