Men's Hockey To Hold Annual Teddy Bear Toss Saturday

ITHACA, N.Y. — The Cornell men's hockey team will get in the spirit of the holiday season during its final home stand of the fall semester, holding the annual Teddy Bear Toss following Saturday's game against Denver at Lynah Rink.

Bears will be on sale for $5 each at both Cornell men's hockey home games against nationally-ranked Denver on Friday and Saturday nights. When the Big Red salutes the crowd after the conclusion of Saturday's game, fans are asked to throw bears and other stuffed animals onto the ice. Bears collected will be donated to the Cops, Kids and Toys Foundation, while proceeds from the sale of the bears will be given to the Franziska Racker Centers and to the Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes.

Tickets for both games are on sale here. Cornell enters the game on a three-game winning streak after defeating Penn State in last Saturday's Frozen Apple at Madison Square Garden in New York. This weekend marks the first time since 1979 that the Big Red has played host to Denver, which is the reigning National Collegiate Hockey Conference champion and seven-time national titlist.
