Women's Track & Field Announces Newcomers For 2014

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Rich Bowman, the Alan B. '53 and Elizabeth Heekin Harris Head Coach of Women's Track and Field and Cross Country, is proud to announce an outstanding group of 25 newcomers who will join the Big Red women's program for the 2014-15 academic year.

The Cornell women, who have won four Heps team titles in cross country and outdoor track over the past three years, will return an accomplished team in 2014-15 and the class of 2018 will bolster the team's fortunes right away. Representing 16 different states and three different countries, the group includes a wealth of talent, highlighted by 10 state and provincial champions, and five state silver medalists. State finalists and national caliber performers will join the team in every event group. The Cornell women's track and cross country class of 2018 has the ability to contribute to the Big Red's legacy of success right away.

Taylor Baker
Bainbridge, Ohio/Paint Valley HS/College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
The Ohio state champion in the discus, Baker has an impressive personal best of 148-9. She has also thrown 44-6 in the weight throw.

Kayleigh Carrillo
La Crescenta, Calif./Crescenta Valley HS/College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
A CIF Division I Finalist, Carrillo comes to Cornell with great range. She has personal bests of 11.84 for 100 meters, 25.05 for 200 meters and 56.00 for 400 meters.

Anne Charles
Encinitas, Calif./Canyon Crest Academy/College of Arts and Sciences
An accomplished middle distance and cross country athlete, Charles has run 2:14.93 for 800 meters, 4:55.72 for 1600 meters and 18:05 for 5K cross country.

Devinne Cullinane
Hampton, N.H./Deerfield Academy/College of Engineering
Captain of both the cross country and ice hockey teams at Deerfield, Cullinane was third at the NEPSTA cross country meet to lead her team to the team title. Cullinane has run 2:17.27 for 800 meters, 4:46.79 for 1500 meters and 18:22 for 5K cross country.

Claudia Dabrowski
Toms River, N.J./Monsignor Donovan HS/College of Engineering
A terrific all-around athlete, Dabrowski placed at the New Jersey Meet of Champions in both the pole vault and long jump and is a top hurdler. She boasts personal bests of 14.76 for 100 Hurdles, 18-3 in the long jump, 37-6 in the triple jump and 11-6 in the pole vault.

Mary-Alice Davison
London, England/Westminster School/College of Arts and Sciences
A fine middle distance and cross country runner, Davison comes to the States with personal bests of 4:46.09 for 1500 meters and 10:19 for 3000 meters. She helped her club qualify for the European U20 Club Championships in 2014.

Taylor Drayton
Oxford, Conn./Oxford HS/College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
The Connecticut state champion in the shot put, Drayon has a personal best of 42-2. She was also one of New England's best discus throwers, with a personal best of 132-2.

Brooke Edell
Westlake Village, Calif./Westlake HS/College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
A CIF finalist at 100 meters, Edell has great sprint credentials, with personal bests of 12.14 for 100 meters and 24.96 for 200 meters.

Kate Gulbrandsen
Palm Beach, Fla./Lawrenceville School/College of Arts and Sciences
The Eastern States champion indoors, Gulbrandsen was one of the nation's top high jumpers as a prep, clearing 5-8.
 
Shannon Hugard
Middletown R.I./Middletown HS/College of Engineering
The Rhode Island state runner-up at 800 meters, Hugard has a personal best of 2:13.55 and is her school's record holder at 1500 meters. A four year varsity letter winner in soccer, Hugard helped her team to the state championship match every year.

Jacqueline Katzman
Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School/College of Arts and Sciences
A four-time state champion on the track, Katzman won the 2013 New Mexico state cross country title and has a personal best of 4:43.20 for 1500 meters and 18:50 for 5K cross country.

Mackenzie Lemieux
Toronto, Ontario/Humberside Collegiate Institute/College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
The 2011 Junior Girls OFSAA 3000 meter and cross country champion, Lemieux is one of Canada's best, having qualified to represent her country at the NACAC championships. A top cyclist, she has personal bests on the track of 4:40.93 for 1500 and 9:55.60 for 3000 meters.

Micaela McGregor
Broken Arrow, Okla./Holland Hall Prep/College of Arts and Sciences
One of Oklahoma's best athletes, McGregor was the SPC 100 meter champion and comes to Cornell with personal bests of 12.12 for 100 meters and 25.25 for 200 meters.

Gillian McIlroy
Summit, N.J./Summit HS/School of Hotel Administration
A 10-time county champion in cross country and track as well as a five-time sectional champion, McIlroy broke a 32-year-old school record with a time of 10:43.21 for 3200 at the New Jersey Meet of Champions and has also run 4:58.43 for 1600.

Erin McLaughlin
Boulder, Colo./Boulder HS/College of Arts and Sciences
A Colorado state cross country and track qualifier every year during high school, McLaughlin was the state runner-up in cross country as a senior and emerged as one of the very best distance runners in the US as a senior, placing 13th at the USATF junior cross country championships. She has personal bests of 4:40 for 1500, 11:03 for 3200 and 18:03 for 5K cross country.

Molly Novak
Moseley, Va./Cosby HS/College of Arts and Sciences
A top long sprinter, Novak has personal bests of 57.54 for 400 meters and 1:18.28 for 500 meters.

Kyle Oefelein
Irvine, Calif./Woodbridge HS/School of Industrial and Labor Relations
An accomplished middle distance runner, Oefelein has run 2:14.83 for 800 meters and is a top cross country runner who helped Woodbridge qualify for the CIF finals as a team two years in a row.

Ryan Preacely
Chicago, Ill./Johnson College Prep/College of Arts and Sciences
One of the top sprint talents in the Midwest, Preacely won Illinois state titles at 100 and 200 meters and has personal bests of 7.07 for 55 meters, 11.68 for 100 meters, and 24.34 for 200 meters.

Taysia Radoslav
Stoney Creek, Ontario/Cardinal Newman HS/College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
An OFSAA champion, Radoslav recently finished third at the Canadian Junior National Championships in the 400 hurdles. An outstanding 400 runner with a personal best of 55.32, she has an impressive best of 59.40 for 400 hurdles.

Kirstin Sandreuter
Cumberland, Maine/Greely HS/College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
A many time state champion on the track and in cross country, Sandreuter qualified for the Footlocker National Cross Country Championships as a senior, where she finished 20th.  She has personal bests of 5:03.76 for 1600 meters, 10:34.87 for 3200 meters and 17:27.65 for 5000 meters.

Ellen Shepard
Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia HS/College of Arts and Sciences
The Pennsylvania state runner up at 100 meters, Shepard is also a state finalist at 200 meters and helped her team to the state title in the 4x100 relay. She has personal bests of 12.03 for 100 meters and 25.16 for 200 meters.

Greta Sloan
Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain HS/College of Arts and Sciences
A bright middle distance talent who set school records in five events, Sloan has placed in the state meet on five different occasions and helped her team to a state cross country team title. She has posted personal best of 2:15.01 for 800 meters and has run an impressive 18:30 for 5K in cross country.

Leah Triller
Glenmount, N.Y./Academy of the Holy Names/School of Hotel Administration
The 2014 New York outdoor state champion at 800 meters, Triller also won the 2013 indoor 1000 meter state title in Barton Hall. Possessing great range, she has personal bests of 2:10.96 for 800 meters, 2:52 for 1000 and 4:36 for 1500.
 
Chinonye Uche
Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer HS/College of Arts and Sciences
A state finalist in Michigan in the 300 hurdles, Uche has a personal best of 45.28 in the event and joins a long line of Pioneer hurdlers to join the Big Red.

Jessica Wojnicki
Bethel, Conn./Immaculate HS/College of Human Ecology
One of New England's best in cross country and track, Wojnicki won the Connecticut indoor state mile title and was the New England indoor runner-up in the mile in 2013 and in the 2 miles in 2014.  She has personal bests of 4:57.42 for 1600 meters and 10:48 for two miles.
