TORONTO, Ont. AND BUFFALO, N.Y. — All-Star season is approaching in the professional women's hockey world and seven Cornell women's hockey alumnae have been named to their respective league's All-Star teams.
In the Canadian Women's Hockey League, Lauriane Rougeau '13 (Les Canadiennes),
Emily Fulton '15 (Toronto Furies), Laura Fortino '13 (Brampton Thunder),
Brianne Jenner '15 (Calgary Inferno),
Jillian Saulnier '15 (Calgary Inferno) and Jessica Campbell '14 (Calgary Inferno) have been named to the
34-player All-Star roster. The
game is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23 at Toronto's Air Canada Center, home of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and will air live on Sportsnet in Canada.
Fan voting is currently open to decide the two All-Star captains, who will draft their teams on Friday, Jan. 22.
In addition, the National Women's Hockey League held its first
All-Star Draft this week, and Alyssa Gagliardi '14 was selected by All-Star captain Hilary Knight in the sixth round, going 11
th overall. Team Knight will
face off against the team picked by Emily Pfalzer at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24 at the Harborcenter in Buffalo, N.Y.
