ITHACA, N.Y. — Recently graduated women's hockey player Brianne Jenner has been named the Ivy League representative for the 2015 NCAA Woman of the Year award.
 
Jenner ended her Cornell career as the program's all-time leader in assists with 135 and second in points with 228. She was also a part of a pair of NCAA Frozen Four teams for the Big Red during her freshman and sophomore seasons. The Oakville, Ontario native racked up first team All-ECAC Hockey and All-Ivy League honors four times and earned Player of the Year in both conferences during her junior and senior campaigns.
 
Jenner spent the 2013-14 season with Team Canada training for the Sochi Olympics, helping take the gold medal. She scored Canada's first goal in a comeback win over the United States in the final. Jenner returned to Cornell the following season to lead the Big Red in scoring with 58 points, while earning her fourth career nomination for the Patty Kazmaier Award, given annually to the nation's best player.
 
The NCAA Woman of the Year award is given to a graduating female student-athlete who has "distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate career in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership." It is the 25th time the award has been given, and Jenner was among more than 480 student-athletes from all three NCAA divisions nominated.
 
The NCAA will announce the Top 30 honorees on NCAA.org in early September and the winners will be presented on October 18 at an awards dinner in Indianapolis.
