QUECHEE, Vt. — The golf team posted an eight-stroke improvement on the second and final day of the Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge, finishing eighth of 12 teams at the Dartmouth-hosted event.

Brandon Eng was the Big Red's best finisher, tying for 10th place after a second-round 74 for a two-day total of 2-over par 146 on the 6,840-yard Highland Course. It's the second consecutive year he finished in the Top 10 at the Quechee Club, having finished tied for eighth in 2014 when he was competing as an individual.

Luke Graboyes had Cornell's best day Sunday, carding an even-par 72 to move into a tie for 14th overall. Sophomore
Christopher Troy shot 79 Sunday and finished in a tie for 53rd with, among others, freshman
Matt Scargle after his 78. Sophomore
Mike Graboyes was tied for 63rd a 78 on Sunday. Senior
Alex Bauman, competing as an individual, finished 74th.
Host Dartmouth won the team competition with a total of 2-over par 578. That proved to be four shots better than Rhode Island. Harvard (583), Hartford (603) and Temple (604) rounded out the top five. Cornell finished third among the five Ivy League entries. Rhode Island's Billy Walthouse won medalist honors with a 4-under par 138.
Cornell is scheduled to conclude the fall portion of its schedule Oct. 3-4 at The MacDonald Cup, hosted by Yale.
