ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell sailing team had a top five team finish at the in-conference North Fall Qualifier and had a pair of top eight finishers individually at the Faye Bennet MAISA Women's Singles to complete week three of the fall season.Cornell placed a strong fifth in both the A and B divisions on their own course, taking fifth overall and fourth among regional squads. The Big Red's team total of 140 points was behind only Hobart and William and Smith (52), St. Mary's (Md.) (83), Fordham (107) and SUNY Maritime (127), but well ahead of sixth-place Columbia (173).
The A division boat was made up of sophomore Shawn Kelter and senior
Claire Riedman for the first six races and junior Matthew Schofield and freshman
Kimberly Wong competed in races 7-11. Schofield and Wong had three top five finishes in their five races together.
In B division, juniors Alex Woloshyn and
Lindsay Gimple raced the first nine races, with freshman Clark Uhl and sophomore
Andrea Farr taking over for the final two. The first group had eight top 10 finishes in their nine races, including a first, second and third place finish.

Quinn Howes and sophomore
Gillian Boehringer headed to Navy to take part in the Faye Bennet MAISA Women's Singles. Howes ended the two-day event in fifth place overall, registering nine top five and five races in the top three. Boehringer wasn't far behind in eighth, with an outstandingly consistent effort that saw 11 of her 14 finishes coming in the top 10. Howes narrowly missed earning a spot in the ICSA Singlehanded Nationals, as the top four sailors qualified automatically.
