ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's swimming and diving team sent its seniors out with a memorable win, topping Brown 177-123 on Saturday afternoon at Teagle Pool. The win, the Big Red's second straight to cap dual meet season, made its final record 4-5 (2-5 Ivy).
Seniors
Victor Luo and
Taylor Adams were part of the 200 medley relay team that finished first by more than three-quarters of a second over a team of Big Red freshmen and sophomores to get the swimming portion of the meet underway.
Luo continued his senior day with dominant wins in the 100 breast (55.99) and 200 breast (2:03.56).
Luke Reisch (1:41.97) held off hard-charging teammate
Kevin Ma (1:41.99) to claim the 200 free event, but Ma would recover to win the 100 free by .03 seconds over teammate
Rob Lincoln (46.15-46.18). For his part, Reisch edged out
Jack Brenneman to touch first in the 100 fly (50.37-50.62). Brenneman continued the photo finishes by edging out
Rob Lincoln in the 50 free by .02 (20.81-20.83).
Dylan Sali won the 100 back (50.56) to lead other event winners, with
Will Stange (1:49.90) earning the top spot on the podium in the 200 back and
William Lin capturing the title in the 200 IM (1:52.63).
Ma, Adams,
David Zurmuhl and Lincoln took home first in the 400 free relay to lock up the dual win.
Cornell returns to competition when the Ivy League championship meet kicks off on Thursday, Feb. 26 at Brown.
