ITHACA, N.Y. – Matt Kerwick, the Richard M. Moran Head Coach of Lacrosse at Cornell, has announced that the Big Red will add 14 newcomers to the roster for the 2017 season. The 14-member class consists of five US Lacrosse All-Americans, as well as two members of the Team Canada U19 squad, and consists of nine midfielders, two attackmen, two defenders, and one goalie.

The group hails from six different states, including a class-high four New Yorkers, as well as one player coming from both Alberta and Ontario.

"Our staff is very excited for this incoming class to join us in the fall," said Kerwick. "The group is extremely talented and provides a mix of players we think can contribute right away, along with others that will develop over time to become great additions to our program. It's a class that will give us tremendous depth, particularly in the midfield, and will enable us to play up-tempo and aggressive Cornell lacrosse. It is a deep, fiercely competitive group with great leadership qualities and an outstanding academic profile."

He's a vocal leader and understands team defense very well."
