Lyanda Dudley (floor) and
Payton Murphy (bars) were runner-up in their events as the Cornell gymnastics team surged ahead for the third week in a row, claiming a season-high 193.525 en route to a third place finish at the Rutgers quad meet on Saturday evening. Rutgers (194.875) topped Michigan State (194.050), while the Big Red slotted ahead of Ursinus (191.350).
Green's score of 9.875 on beam matched Rutgers' Makenzey Shank atop the leaderboard, while Dudley and
Courtney Spitzer tied for ninth overall with twin 9.750's. Murphy posted a career-best 9.800 on bars (No. 10 all-time at Cornell) and Dudley, who finished third in the all-around (38.775), four on vault (9.700) and ninth on beam (9.750), went 9.875 on floor - the third-highest score in school history.
Elana Molotsky (seventh, 9.825) and
Samantha Henry (10th, 9.775) recorded top 10 individual finishes on floor, with Molotsky also finishing fifth on bars (9.775) where she tied with teammate
Lauren Wong. Green was just .025 off their score to take ninth.
Maci Prescott took ninth on vault with a 9.625.
Cornell's 193.525 is more than two full points better than its week two score (191.175), and its floor team score of 48.975 was just .025 off the school record.
