CALGARY, Alberta — Women's hockey sophomore
Marlène Boissonnault and freshmen
Jaime Bourbonnais and
Kristin O'Neill were all selected to attend Hockey Canada's National Women's Program strength and conditioning camp, which will take place May 3-7 in Hamilton, Ontario.
All three players were invited to last year's strength and conditioning camp. Both Bourbonnais and O'Neill were members of the National Women's Development Team that won silver for Canada at the 2017 Nations Cup in January. In that tournament, Bourbonnais finished tied for second on the team with four points (0-4—4).
The focus of this camp will be entirely on off-ice sessions, according to Hockey Canada. The participants will undergo dryland training, fitness-testing, and physical and mental preparation.
The Big Red trio enters the summer all having made substantial contributions to the teams run to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.
Boissonnault posted a 10-1-2 record to earn the nation's second-best winning percentage at .846 and a spot on the All-Ivy Second Team. She also boasted the fourth-best goals against average in the country (1.52) and finished 18th overall in save percentage (.925) while her 1.28 goals against average in ECAC Hockey play was second overall.

O'Neill was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year and earned spots on the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team and the All-Ivy second team. She set the program record for short-handed goals in a season (5). She finished second on the team in scoring with 26 points on 12 assists and a team-high 14 goals, the highest point and goal total by a Cornell freshman since the 2011-12 season.
