#11/11 Women's Lacrosse To Host Ivy League Tournament

ITHACA, N.Y. — The #11/11 Cornell women's lacrosse team has earned the right to host the Ivy League Tournament for the first time in program history.

With #8/7 Penn's win over Yale on Sunday, the Big Red earns the top seed and hosting rights. Penn and #6/9 Princeton also finished conference play at 6-1 and earned shares of the regular season championship. But while all three teams finished 6-1 and 1-1 against the other two, Cornell will host the tournament based on a goal differential tiebreaker.

The Big Red will host Harvard on May 5 in one semifinal, while Princeton will take on Penn in the other. The two winners will meet on May 7 at 11 a.m. for the Ivy League's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.

The Big Red, which has appeared in six of the previous seven Ivy Tournaments, defeated the Crimson yesterday, 13-6, to earn a share of its second-ever Ivy League regular season title. The Big Red finished the 2017 regular season with an 11-4 overall record.

All three games will be simulcast on the Ivy League Digital Network and the American Sports Network.
