ITHACA, N.Y. – Women's soccer head coach Dwight Hornibrook announced Tuesday that seven student-athletes will join Cornell for the upcoming 2018 season.

The newcomers will join a team that returns 16 letter winners from last year and looks to again climb the Ivy League ladder. The Big Red's additions arrive from a variety of regions, including three imports from Florida, two from Los Angeles and one each from Pittsburgh and central Connecticut.
 
The Big Red is expected to announce its 2018 schedule in the coming weeks.

Incoming Player Biographies
Victoria Bubrick
Forward — 5-foot-3 — Orlando, Fla.  (The First Academy / Florida Kraze Krush)
Hornibrook on Bubrick: "Victoria is a crafty winger who has good quickness and a knack for getting past opposing defenders. She is a very good crosser of the ball and will have an impact on both the right and left sides of the field. Victoria's attacking instincts will be a great addition to the Big Red."
 
Miranda Iannone
Goalkeeper — 5-foot-6 — Hamden, Conn. (Hamden Hall Country Day School / Connecticut FC)
Hornibrook on Iannone: "Miranda is a freshman GK who has shown a fearless presence in the goal. She is quick off her line and has the ability to make the difficult save when needed. She is a valuable addition to our GK's Union for the Big Red."
 
Katerina Johnson
Forward — 5-foot-6 — Los Angeles, Calif. (Marlborough School / Los Angeles Premier FC Development Academy)
Hornibrook on Johnson: "Kat is a creative attacking player who has the ability to find space in the opponent's penalty area. Her vision and passing and scoring abilities will make her a player that opponents have to be careful with on game day. Kat has a very good soccer IQ and will combine will with her teammates."
 
Jadyn Matthews
Defender/Midfielder — 5-foot-6 — Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. (William T. Dwyer HS / Jamaica Women's National Team)
Hornibrook on Matthews: "Jadyn has a very impressive resume as a player and will be a very strong influence on our development as a team. She has represented Jamaica at both the U20 and Full International levels in the past few months and actually scored on the USA in the U20 World Cup Qualifying event. Jadyn is an excellent passer and brings a very good combination of speed and strength to the game. She will compete for Cornell in either the midfield or at the back. In short, a versatile and strong addition for the Big Red."
 
Mofoluke Obiri
Defender — 5-foot-7 — Pittsburgh, Pa. (Seton LaSalle HS / Pittsburgh Riverhounds)
Hornibrook on Obiri: "Mo is a solid left back who has the ability to get forward and join the attack. Her ability to run into attacking positions from the back will be a very valuable asset to the Big Red. She is also a very capable defender who will make it difficult for opponents to get past her."
 
Aidan Julia Reineman
Midfielder — 5-foot-7 — Los Angeles, Calif. (Brentwood School / Real So Cal)
Hornibrook on Reineman: "Aidan is a very capable and industrious midfield player who reads the game very well. Her positional sense, ability to pass and shoot the ball with power and accuracy will be a great addition to our midfield. She looks to combine with her teammates a great deal and will give us a solid contribution in every minute with her high work rate."
 
Evanthia Spyredes
Midfielder — 5-foot-7 — Boca Raton, Fla. (Pine Crest School / Sunrise Soccer Club)
Hornibrook on Spyredes: "Eva is a midfield player who has shown good instincts in both attacking and defending moments of the game. She is a strong tackler and also has the ability to shoot from the outside. As a midfielder, she has a great passing range and she will be counted on to find our wingers with her passing skills."
