ITHACA, N.Y. — A total of 30 Cornell men's and women's ice hockey players have been named to the 2017-18 ECAC Hockey All-Academic team, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. Twenty-one men and 13 women were honored for the success in the classroom among the 467 players recognized.
 
Players are eligible for the All-Academic team if they earn a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or have a GPA over 3.00 over the past three semesters.
 
For the men, two athletes were named for the fourth straight year (Alex Rauter, Dwyer Tschantz), four others are now three-time winners (Anthony Angello, Jared Fiegl, Matt Nuttle, Brendan Smith), and five others have earned the accolade twice (Noah Bauld, Connor Murphy, Trevor Yates, Jeff Malott, Mitch Vanderlaan).
 
The women have one four-time selection (Sarah Knee), three two-time picks (Diana Buckley, Erin O'Connor, Lenka Serdar) and three more who have garnered the honor for a second time (Brianna Veerman, Paige Lewis, Hannah Mutschelknaus).
