ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell gymnastics team welcomes six student-athletes who will compete for the Big Red beginning in the fall of 2018. The Class of 2022 will help Cornell build on a successful run that features seven Ivy Classic titles and six runner-up finishes in the last 17 years, five top two finishes at the ECAC meet in the last decade (two championships) and seven team finalist entries in the last 13 seasons at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Nationals.

Fr. * All-Around * 5-6 * Gaithersburg, Md. (Scotts Valley HS/Airborne Gymnastics)
• Won the Level 10 state championship on floor in 2015 while competing for Airborne Gymnastics.
• Qualified for Junior Nationals in 2015 and was an alternate in 2017.
• Graduated from Scotts Valley HS.

Fr. * All-Around * 5-3 * Miami, Fla. (Miami-Dade Online Academy/Universal Gymnastics)
• Espinosa was a state place-winner on three events and in the all-around at the Florida Level 10 championships in 2017 while attending Miami-Dade Online Academy.
• She was a co-captain of her club team, Universal Gymnastics.
• Earned a state title on vault at Level 9 in 2013.

Fr. * All-Around * 5-4 * Saratoga Springs, N.Y. (Saratoga Springs HS/World Class Gymnastics Academy)
• Was a Region 6 national team qualifier in 2017 while attending Saratoga Springs HS.
• Placed fifth in the all-around at both the 2017 state and regional meets.
• Competed at Junior Olympics in 2017.
• Was a regional NIT qualifier in 2014.
• Competed for World Class Gymnastics Academy.

Fr. * All-Around * 5-6 * Plainview, N.Y. (Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy HS/Hotshots Gymnastics)
• Earned NHSGA All-America on every event during her final two seasons competing at Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy HS and for Hotshots Gymnastics.
• Named the school's senior student-athlete of the year.
• Also captured News 12 Scholar Athlete of the Year accolades in 2018.
• Earned a state title on beam and in the all-around in 2016.
• Captured county titles on vault, bars, beam, floor and the all-around in 2016.
• Earned team MVP honors four times and captained the team in each of her final four years.
• Helped her team to four county titles.

Fr. * All-Around * 5-2 * Farmingdale, N.Y. (Farmingdale HS/All Stars Gymnastics)
• Maughan was a two-year Level 10 Junior Olympic national qualifier while attending Farmingdale HS.
• Was second in the region on vault and fifth on both floor and in the all-around in 2018 after finishing third in the state on vault.
• Placed second on vault and floor, fourth in the all-around and fifth on bars in the region in 2017.
• Reached the podium on vault and in the all-around at the state meet in 2017.
• Was a Junior Olympics alternate in 2016 at Level 10.
• Was the state and region vault and all-around champion in 2015 at the Level 9 meets.

• Was a Junior Olympic Qualifier at Level 10 for two years while attending Shorecrest HS.
• Served as team captain for three seasons at Cascade Elite Gymnastics.
• Was the Western National Champion in her age division in 2015.
• Part of the Level 8 state team in 2013.
