2009 Men's Cross Country Roster
Biography
At Cornell:
Coming off one of the strongest freshman campaigns in the conference, Hatch will be counted on to contribute in a major way in all three seasons as a sophomore and beyond. As a freshman, Hatch scored for the Big Red every time out in cross-country, most of the time as the team’s fourth man. At Heps, he was the fourth freshman to cross the line, running a time of 25:35. In track, Hatch stepped it up a notch, as he was the only freshman to score individually in a distance event. Indoors, he scored in the mile, while outdoors he was the only freshman to make the 1,500 final. Despite his 1,500/mile success, Hatch showed promise in his only 5k of the year and likely will race more at 3k and 5k as a sophomore. At Nashville Community: As a junior, Hatch won the Illionis Class A state title in both cross country as well as the 800. As a senior, he was runner-up in cross country and in the 1,600. His track personal bests were 1:53 and 4:14. Personal: Charles R. Hatch is the son of the Honorable Dennis and Monica Hatch and has an older brother and sister as well as a younger brother.
