Michael Howe Career Statistics
At Cornell: Howe played a significant role on the Big Red defense during his junior season, playing in 15 games and starting the final five contests of the year. He picked up 15 ground balls on the season and caused six turnovers. He registered a career-high five ground balls vs. Hobart and caused two turnovers vs. Princeton (May 16). He also gave Cornell a boost in the face off circle, winning 11-of-19 restarts (.579), including an impressive 8-for-12 performance vs. Hofstra in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. Howe became an important part of the Big Red’s defense during his sophomore season, seeing action in 10 games. He picked up three ground balls on the year. Howe went from the pole to the short stick during the fall of his rookie season and saw substantial playing time in the midfield. He played in seven games and picked up six ground balls on the season, including a career-high two vs. Notre Dame and Dartmouth.
At Holy Cross Secondary School: Howe was a five-year starter at Holy Cross Secondary. He was the captain of the Niagara U-19 field lacrosse team and was also a member of the Team Ontario U-19 team that won the Brogden Cup in 2005. Howe led his team to an all-Ontario championship in 2005 and a regional championship in 2005 and 2006. He also lettered twice in hockey.
Personal: Michael Edward Howe is the son of Edward and Vija Howe and he has an older and a younger sister. He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
