Biography
At Cornell
Bub had a strong showing his rookie season scoring points in both the 400 IM and 200 breaststroke at the Ivy Championship in 2013. He added depth through the dual meet season in both breaststroke events as well as the 200 IM.
Prior to Cornell
Bub was an NISCA All-American in 2011-12 in the 200 IM and as part of a relay squad at The Woodlands HS. A two-year all-state honoree, he served as team captain in each of his final two seasons. While swimming club for The Woodlands Swim Team, he was a USA Swimming southern zone select team member for one year and a two-time scholastic All-American. Bub was a junior nationals and nationals qualifier.
Personal
Avery Nathaniel Bub is the son of Scott and Kathryn Bub and has a younger sister. His cousin, Trey Ruefle, was on the swimming teams at West Virginia and Texas, and also played football for two seasons with the Longhorns. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
