As a Freshman (2012)
Meki saw action in five games during his freshman season, playing in the midfield. He took part in five of the first seven games of the year.

Before Cornell
Meki played midfield and forward for three years at Temple High School in Texas, winning a letter each year. He was second-team All District as a junior as well as Most Improved Player and was also a captain his junior year. Meki also played for a club team called El Tri where he was a captain for three seasons. In 2009, he scored seven goals and had 11 assists while El Tri finished first place in its division. The next year, he added another seven goals and 15 assists while his team won the league. His last year, El Tri moved up to the top league in the system, and he scored five goals and 13 assists.

Personal
Simbarashe Calton Meki is the son of Manyowa and Zvisinei Meki. He has four brothers: Kudzai, Itai, Tawanda and Tinashe.
