BURLINGTON, Vt. - Dan Marks scored the game-winner off a free kick from Brian Kuritzky as the Cornell men's soccer team picked up its first win of the season, scoring a 1-0 victory over the University of New Hampshire to close out play in the Smith Barney/Nike Invitational in Burlington, Vt., on Sunday.

Marks tallied his goal at the 71:14 mark of the match, heading home a crossing ball from Kuritzky past Wildcat goalkeeper Brian Levey. Cornell then hung on for the remaining time to secure the victory.

Cornell (1-2-1) handed New Hampshire its first loss of the season (3-1-2), just two days after the Wildcats knocked off 23rd-ranked Central Connecticut in the opening game of the tournament.

Kyle Lynch, Dan Marks and Luca Cerretani were each named to the all-tournament team for their efforts against Vermont and UNH. Cerretani picked up four saves in making his first shutout, including a sliding save of a breakaway by UNH's Chris Banks in the 26th minute.

Cornell opens its home slate on Wednesday, taking on Buffalo in a non-conference contest at 7 p.m. at Berman Field in Ithaca.
