ITHACA, N.Y. -- Three second-half goals broke open a 1-0 halftime deficit as the Cornell women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 contest to Brown on Sunday afternoon at Berman Field.

The banged-up Big Red squad fell behind in the 31st minute as Sylvia Stone finished off a cross from the right side in what turned out to be the game-winner. The Bears took the 1-0 lead into the break, then added a second goal six minutes after halftime as Jamie Mize finished a loose ball in the Cornell penalty area.

The Bears would tack on two more goals in the contest, with Susie Keller scoring in the 64th minute and Stone capping off the scoring in the 87th minute with her second goal of the game, this time finishing a Brown corner kick.

Cornell goalkeeper Jodi Palmer made three saves in the losing effort for the Big Red, which falls to 4-9 on the year and 0-4 in Ivy League play. Brown goalie Steffi Yellin picked up five saves for the Bears, who improved to 4-8-1 overall and 2-2 in Ivy League action.

Cornell returns to action next Saturday, taking on Princeton in a 1 p.m. contest in Princeton, N.J.
