NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's soccer team closed out its 2008 season with a 2-0 loss at Columbia on Saturday night. Columbia scored a goal in each half to finish its season at 4-12-1 and 2-5 in the Ivy League, while Cornell ends the season at 1-15 and 0-7 in league play.
Columbia's Bayo Adafin opened the scoring with what turned out to be the game-winner in the 19th minute, firing a shot from a difficult angle on the left side of the Cornell goal. The Lions would take the lead into the half before adding to it in the 56th minute. Pepe Carotenuto collected a loose ball at the top of the penalty area and fired a shot to the upper left corner of the goal.

Steve Lesser picked up four saves in taking the loss for the Big Red, while Columbia netminder Alex Aurrichio stopped all four shots he faced on the night.
