ITHACA, N.Y.—The Big Red men's squash team opened the Cornell Invitational with a 9-0 shutout of Amherst on Friday afternoon at the Belkin International Squash Courts. Eight Cornell players blanked their opponents 3-0. The Big Red moves to 7-2 overall this season.
Moving up to play at the No. 1 position,
Will Hartigan blanked Drew Blacker in the first two games, and only allowed his opponent one point in the third game. At the No. 7 and 8 positions,
Pat Brady and
Chris Vernick did not allow their competition to score a single point.
Cornell plays Rochester at 7 p.m. on Friday night.
