Men's Tennis Plays Past Chapman, 6-1

ORANGE, Calif.—The Big Red men's tennis team opened its Spring Break trip off to a great start on Sunday afternoon with a 6-1 win at Chapman. Cornell has now won its last five matches to move to 7-3 for the season. The Big Red will play at Loyola Marymount on Monday afternoon.

The Big Red swept doubles play to earn the point and followed with singles wins at the No. 2 through No. 6 positions. All five Big Red singles' victories were won in two sets. At the No. 2 spot, Jon Fife defeated Christian Isit, 6-4, 6-2. Jeremy Feldman picked up a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Tyler Martin at the third position, while Andy Gauthier defeated Leland Buttle by the same margin at No. 4 singles. Captain Marc Asch shut out Alexander Klein in his first set, 6-0, and sealed the match win with a 6-3 victory in the second set. At No. 6 singles, Kyle Doppelt defeated Tyler McCusker, 6-1, 6-2.
