Women's Tennis Drops Match to Division III Powerhouse Amherst College, 6-3

ROLLING HILLS, Calif.—The Big Red women's tennis team lost a 6-3 match to the No. 4 DIII ranked Amherst College on Sunday to open its California Spring Break trip. The two teams played at the Jack Kramer Club in Rolling Hills, Calif. Cornell moves to 3-7 for the season.

In doubles play, Natalia Sanchez and Stephanie Kent teamed up to defeat Brittany Berckes and Natasha Brown, 8-1. The Big Red picked up singles wins by Stephanie Kent (6-3, 6-3) at the No. 1 position, and Shayna Miller (6-4, 6-3) at No. 3 singles. The Big Red will play at Azusa Pacific University on Tuesday afternoon.
