Cornell (11-5-3, 8-2-2 ECAC Hockey) got on the board early when Devin scored a rebound off a shot by Collins that was stopped by Tisi at the 6:37 mark of the first period. The Saints (13-9-4, 7-4-2 ECAC Hockey) tied the score up on Hughes' goal on a shot from between the circles on the power play. Vermeulen worked the puck out of the corner to Bollig who went behind the goal and sent the puck to Hughes for the one-timer that hit the shoulder of Scrivens before bouncing over and across the goal line.
The score remained tied through the second period and into the third, though Cornell held a decisive edge in shots, 10-6 during the second period and 13-4 in the third. Cornell finally went ahead with Kennedy's goal with 1:37 to play. Miller began the play by carrying the puck into the St. Lawrence end and sending the puck to Greening for a two-on-one with Kennedy. Greening saw Kennedy on his right, faked a shot on Tisi and slid a pass to the oncoming Kennedy, who ripped a shot past Tisi, sparking a wild celebration in the corner to Tisi's left.
St. Lawrence coach Joe Marsh pulled Tisi after the ensuing faceoff for the extra skater, but the Saints could not get the tying goal despite putting three shots on the Cornell goal.
Cornell returns to action on Saturday night when they take on Clarkson in a 7 p.m. game at Lynah Rink.
