ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Colgate and Cornell men's hockey programs have announced that they will be facing off at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. on Nov. 27. The game is set for 7:30 p.m. at the fourth-year home of the New Jersey Devils. The matchup will not affect any ECAC Hockey standings because the game will be considered a non-conference game for both sides.
"We are thrilled to partner with fellow ECAC Hockey member Cornell and the great management team at the Prudential Center to bring Division I College Hockey to the home of the New Jersey Devils, Newark, N.J. and the greater New York City area,” said Colgate head coach Don Vaughan. “To play this game in one of the best venues in the world against a rival like Cornell is something that our alumni, season ticket holders and general hockey fans alike will not want to miss.”
"This is a really great opportunity for our kids to play at the Prudential Center," said Cornell head coach
Mike Schafer. "Any time you get a chance to play in an NHL facility, it's exciting for everyone involved, and our players are excited about the opportunity. It's a great chance for Cornell and Colgate alumni and youth hockey players in the area to see an outstanding college hockey game. We're excited to play Colgate in what should be a really good matchup."
