Box Score

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell women's soccer team fell to Dartmouth this evening, 1-0, in the season finale for both squads. Big Red goalie Megan Bartlett was solid in net, finishing the game with three saves, but it was a goal by Aly O'Dea in the 67th minute that proved to be the difference.

O'Dea scored by one-touching a cross from Chrissy Lozier just inside the near post to account for all the scoring in the contest.

With the win, Dartmouth evens its record at 7-7-2 and improved to 4-2-1 in the Ivy League. The Big Green held the edge in shots (15-9) and shots on goal (5-3), but Cornell earned three corner kicks while limiting the visitors to just one. Dartmouth goalie Colleen Hogan made three saves for the clean sheet.

The Big Red had a great opportunity in the 14th minute of the game when Lena Russomagno got a one-on-one breakaway. Hogan left her line and broke up the opportunity, but the ball squirted loose and Russomagno put it in the back of the net. Unfortunately, the goal was taken off the board when it was ruled that ball was played while in Hogan's possession.

Cornell finishes the 2010 season with an overall record of 6-8-1 and a mark of 1-5-1 in the Ivy League.
